The Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly subscription box filled with various beauty supplies in a mix of full size and samples. It costs $5 w/free shipping (I think technically the box is free and the $5 is to cover shipping), and rumor has it the box is very generally customized based on age (they ask for your birthday at signup).
The entire box smelled great upon opening, thanks to the Vaseline that was putting off a slight fragrance of sweet coconut. Here’s what I got:
Vaseline Intensive Care Healing Serum, full size, $8 As I said, this stuff smells great. It’s a little heavy for general moisturizing in summer but I’ve been using it on my elbows and heels and it’s really awesome. Love it! Thanks to this the box has already paid for itself.
Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus, full size, $8 This is a total bomb. I don’t wear lipstick (gloss and balms only for me) and I definitely don’t wear ultra bold and shocking red like this. It’s an interesting choice for a sample box as red is such a personal color — even if I did love red lipstick what are the odds that this would be the right shade?
Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel moisturizer (sample size) I love gel moisturizers so this is right up my alley. It lasted me several days and was very light but very hydrating. I just might be convinced to buy the full size and switch my routine from what I’ve been using.
Burt’s Bees Renewal Intensive Firming Serum (sample) I love the idea of this, because I like Burt’s Bees in general. But it was a little too tingly for me and overall felt a bit harsh on my skin. Glad this was a small sample as I always feel obligated to use them up, ha.
Loreal Total Repairs Restoring Shampoo, Conditioner, and Ceramide (sample) Nice. My hair is a bit damaged right now, but it’s too hard to tell if it’s really helping in just a few shampoos.
Simple Cleansing Micellar Cleanser (sample) I honestly haven’t had a chance to try this yet, but it’s something I am interested in.
Summary: A great value for the $5 price tag — specifically because I’ll definitely use the Vaseline lotion, and the Neutrogena moisturizing gel is a great find I might not have otherwise have tried. Absolutely worth it! Even with the ridiculously bright full-sized lipstick. :)
