High wind warnings in the L.A. area lately are whipping up all kinds of things onto streets and sidewalks, like a storm washing up fresh seashells on the beach!
It's like potpourri from the sky!
This project is not for those that are easily embarrassed, because it involves picking stuff off the street, out of gutters, and possibly from the wheel-wells of your neighbors cars.
The contents of my pockets after a walk in the Hollywood Hills on a windy day.
I’m hosting a small get-together later today and while I was out walking I came up with this idea for a last-minute centerpiece.
I simply alternated the berries, seeds, etc. with votive candles in a mini muffin pan and it looks surprisingly un-trashy!
What you’ll need:
- An assortment of wild and natural fall goodies from the great outdoors (whatever strikes you!)
- A mini muffin tin
- Votive/tealight candles
What to do:
Arrange your autumn treasures in the muffin tin in whatever way looks pretty to you, alternating natural items with candles and being careful not to let anything flammable (sticks, branches, dry leaves) sit or rest too close to the flames.
Relax and enjoy!
