I’m just about done with winter. In fact the only reason I’m still okay with it is because I have to be — it’s not going anywhere until it’s good and ready and that’s that. But even though spring and summer can’t get here fast enough (there’s a blizzard and subzero temps looming as I type this) the dark and cold winter season does have its good side. It can be cozy and restful (for mind and body) and a great time for renewing bonds and having meaningful visits with friends and loved ones. Appreciate and embrace the season for what it is and make a point to fit these five things into your schedule over the next few weeks, before winter is over.
- Take a bubble bath.
- Build a snowman, make a snow angel, or throw a snowball.
- Spend at least 5 uninterrupted minutes watching the snow fall or admiring the barren landscape.
- Pick one “inside” DIY project that’s been on your list for too long and DO IT.
- Invite your best friends over for a dinner party, movie, or game night.
And have a cup of tea.
