Walk in the Winter Woods by Rigel CelesteI’m just about done with winter. In fact the only reason I’m still okay with it is because I have to be — it’s not going anywhere until it’s good and ready and that’s that. But even though spring and summer can’t get here fast enough (there’s a blizzard and subzero temps looming as I type this) the dark and cold winter season does have its good side. It can be cozy and restful (for mind and body) and a great time for renewing bonds and having meaningful visits with friends and loved ones. Appreciate and embrace the season for what it is and make a point to fit these five things into your schedule over the next few weeks, before winter is over.

  1. Take a bubble bath.
  2. Build a snowman, make a snow angel, or throw a snowball.
  3. Spend at least 5 uninterrupted minutes watching the snow fall or admiring the barren landscape.
  4. Pick one “inside” DIY project that’s been on your list for too long and DO IT.
  5. Invite your best friends over for a dinner party, movie, or game night.

And have a cup of tea.
